When the two former ski bums Niklas Möller and Eric Spongberg took over a small hotel building on the Erlenweg, a few hundred metres from the Titlis base station, their intention was to bring together all the things they loved about Engelberg: the snow, the Mt. Titlis, and the camaraderie, with a splash of food and drinks, and a dash of magic dust added to the mix.
More than a decade and a successful expansion into the building next door later, Ski Lodge Engelberg is the focal point of a ski town that has emerged as one of the hottest places in the world to ski over the past 15 years. Here, on any given day during the ski season, you can rub shoulders with
an eclectic mix of skiers from all over the world, including some of the biggest names in freeriding, who regularly make the pilgrimage to Engelberg to explore its legendary terrain and experience its fabled powder. The ever-busy, vibrant bar is the heart of the
establishment (and the town), pulsating with nonstop action from the après ski, which starts in the early afternoon, to late night drinks. In the room next door, behind glass doors, is the acclaimed Brasserie Konrad, which serves some of the best cuisine in town.
